High spectator numbers for fourth division derbies are keeping kitchen teams busy across the region. While traditional snacks remain staples, several clubs are expanding what they serve to visiting crowds.

At RKAVV, kitchen coordinator Karin Zwaneveld notes that peanut sauce on chips, meatballs, or a Mexicano remains a signature order. The club also puts out free weekly fresh fruit boxes with tangerines, pears, and bananas through its community initiative.

Midweek dining and weekend snacks

HV & CV Quick runs its clubhouse as restaurant De Groene Haan during the week, serving items like sea bream with lobster sauce and summer stew with roasted cauliflower. Matchday Saturdays return to simpler favourites, especially the kroket.

At HBS, the crispy chicken burger is the standout seller. FC ‘s-Gravenzande offers bean coffee and pastries alongside healthier savoury choices, including a falafel wrap.

Traditions and new options

HVV maintains a long tradition with its meatball roll, once nicknamed the Broodje Baron Provençale after a team manager. Visitors often pair it with hot chocolate in the morning or wine in the afternoon.

SVV Scheveningen is working on new options, including a dedicated children’s meal box. At Westlandia, classic rolls with meatballs, frikandel, kroket, or cheese and salad still lead sales, but the club has launched a working group to develop healthier alternatives.
