Van Gogh’s paintings will fill the giant dome at Museon-Omniversum in The Hague next month, putting visitors inside starry skies, sunflowers and landscapes.

The works appear on a dome screen measuring 840 square metres, so large that the eye barely finds an edge.

In The Starry Night, the familiar blue sky hangs overhead while the stars turn and the thick brushstrokes fill the room, and Sunflowers and other well known works are shown at the same scale.

Screenings and a painting workshop

The 360 degree experience lasts about 40 minutes and runs on Friday 13, Friday 20 and Friday 27 November, with showings at 18:00 and 20:00.

A ticket for the film costs €13.50.

Anyone who wants to pick up a brush afterwards can add a Sip and Paint workshop and make their own version of The Starry Night, with no painting experience needed.

The workshop comes with a cocktail, which can be alcohol free, small snacks and jazz music.

A combined ticket for the film and the workshop costs €59.95.
