The Hague shoemaker Joseline Haverman has launched a DIY kit that allows parents, relatives, and friends to craft leather baby shoes at home.

The package, named Ily M.io after her daughter Io, includes all necessary materials and step-by-step instructions.

Making a pair takes a few hours, and no prior experience with leatherworking is required.

Crafting baby gifts at home

Haverman developed the idea after handcrafting first baby shoes as gifts for friends and family.

The finished shoes are available in multiple sizes and eight different designs.

Haverman trained as a traditional shoemaker at the René van den Berg Academy and attended the Ondernemersschool in The Hague.

In 2023, she received a Global Footwear Award in the High Heels and Artistic Footwear categories.
