People with dementia and their loved ones can have a free cup of coffee and a tompouce at Hema on Grote Marktstraat in The Hague from Tuesday 3 November.
The department store chain turns 100 this year and is marking the anniversary with Vergeet-mij-niet-Koffie mornings, organised with Alzheimer Nederland at branches that have a restaurant.
At the Grote Marktstraat store the gatherings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month.
Visitors are welcome between 10:00 and 11:30 in the restaurant on the first floor.
Volunteers from Alzheimer Haaglanden will be on hand to listen to anyone who wants to talk.
Nostalgic card sets showing Hema products from the past 100 years will be laid out on the tables as conversation starters.
The coffee and tompouce cost nothing and there is no need to register in advance.
