Chinatown The Hague will combine the Chinese Moon Festival with National Neighbours Day on Saturday 26 September 2026. The joint event runs under the theme ‘Meet the Chinese Neighbours’ and focuses on bringing residents together around Rabbijn Maarsenplein.
Admission to the general programme is free. Activities begin at 10:00 with Tai Chi on the square, alongside a street food and craft market, a children’s programme, and a mahjong tournament that requires advance registration for up to 80 participants.
Stage shows and long table dinner
From 12:00, stage performances will feature lion and dragon dances alongside drum shows. Visitors can also follow a walking route through Chinatown or try on traditional clothing during a Hanfu activity.
A seated long table dinner begins at 17:00 with live Chinese entertainment. The dinner costs €15 per person, requires advance registration, and has space for up to 140 guests.
New lighting and neighbouring activities
The day in Chinatown concludes at 20:00 with the unveiling of new street lighting in the neighbourhood. The wider event runs until 21:00.
Activities will also extend into Het Oude Centrum from 12:00 to 17:00. A red lantern route will connect events, with demonstrations, music, sports, and children’s activities taking place around the Helena van Doeverenplantsoen.
